Shakesqueer started as an idea between a small group of friends in Tucson, Arizona in 2016 and is now a loose collective of performers, musicians, artists, stagecrafters and collaborators who come together annually to put on an irreverent, queer Shakespeare production. We’ve performed three shows–Twelfth Night (2017), Macbeth (2018), and As You Like It (2019)–in Tucson and Arivaca; and we’ve taken Macbeth to Ajo and As You Like It to Bisbee.
